Radiators that don't heat properly are the most common heating complaint we get — and almost always fixable in under 90 minutes. The usual culprit is trapped air, sludge, or imbalanced flow.
If yours are warm at the top but cold at the bottom, you've got sludge. Cold at the top, warm at the bottom — air. Whole radiator stays cold while others work — flow problem. We diagnose what's actually going on and fix it properly.
For badly sludged systems we may recommend a full power flush (£395) — we'll always quote before doing extra work.
How it works
Common questions
Is this the same as a power flush?
No. A radiator service is bleeding, balancing, and topping up inhibitor — gentle maintenance. A power flush (£395) is a chemical deep-clean for systems with serious sludge buildup. Most homes only need the service.
How often should I do this?
Every 2-3 years for an average home. More often if you have older radiators or hard water. Cheaper than reactive repairs by miles.
Will it help my heating bills?
Often yes. A balanced, properly-flowing system uses 10-20% less gas than one with sludge and air pockets. The £95 typically pays for itself within a winter.
What if you find serious problems?
We tell you honestly. If a radiator is internally rotted, we'll quote replacement. If the whole system is shot, we'll explain why a power flush or replacement makes more sense than another service.
